LEGAL OFFICE ASSISTANT
Program Description
A 31.0 Semester Credit Hour (930 clock hours) program requires
31 weeks of training (days) and 51.67 weeks of training (evening),
and is designed for those students who desire knowledge and
skills for employment in administrative positions that complement
the legal team in law firms and legal departments of private
industry or government. 
Program Objectives
The program combines theoretical knowledge and “hands-on,”
practical training in legal administrative responsibilities
related to the legal environment. Students in this program
are trained in legal office procedures, legal terminology,
court systems, legal record keeping, bookkeeping and accounting,
billing clients and the preparation, filing and service of
legal documentation in a variety of practice areas. In addition,
the students will become highly proficient in keyboarding,
machine transcription and a numerous computer programs.
Occupational Objectives
Graduates will be qualified for employment opportunities
as legal trainees in law offices, legal departments of corporations,
governmental entities, legal secretaries, legal administrative
assistant and other legal support employment positions.
