STUDENT RECORDS POLICY
The Family Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 prohibits an institution
from releasing the school records or any other information
about a student to any third party without the written consent
of the student. InterCoast Colleges protects the privacy and
confidentially of all student records. Students are guaranteed
the right to access to their own files. InterCoast Colleges
maintains a file for each student whether or not the student
completes the program. All student files are retained by the
institution for a minimum of three (3) years.
HONOR SYSTEM POLICY
True learning occurs only with the spirit and practice of
integrity and honesty. If it is determined, upon investigation,
that a student received unauthorized assistance in accomplishing
assignments, quizzes and/or examinations, that student will
be dismissed.
GUESTS POLICY
Students are invited to bring guests to show them the school's
facilities at any time. Should the student's guest desire
sitting in on a class lecture, authorization by the School
Director will be required first. Additionally, an Admissions
Representative will welcome the opportunity to conduct a tour
and explain the various training programs to any guest.
COMPUTER LABORATORY USE POLICY
InterCoast Colleges maintains a modern, state-of-the-art computer
laboratory and is available to all students during non scheduled
class usage hours. It is important for students to recognize
that this equipment is complex and costly. Correct operating
procedures should be followed at all times. Machine down time
due to improper use is expensive and is a loss for all students.
No smoking, eating, or drinking is permitted, at any time,
in the computer laboratory.
GRADUATE EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE SERVICES
Southern California is one of the fastest growing travel,
medical, legal, and business job markets in the country. InterCoast
Colleges maintains a Placement Director to assist graduates
in contacting companies in order to secure employment. It
should be noted that InterCoast Colleges does not guarantee
employment upon completion of any program. The Placement Director
acts as a liaison between the classroom and the employment
community. Information on job search techniques is provided
to students during the Career Development module, based on
the current needs of local businesses and industries.
NOTE: All graduates will be considered to need placement
assistance unless a signed student waiver of placement assistance
is in their file. Graduates waiving placement assistance may
still receive placement assistance by notifying the Placement
Department that they again wish to be placed in an active
job seeking status. Successful job search is dependent upon
a self-confident and well prepared applicant with a pre-planned
strategy. The Placement Director will assist in this effort.
While placement is not guaranteed, the Placement Director
will work diligently with each graduate until he/she is placed,
assuming cooperation on the part of the graduate.
The Placement Director assists graduates to find employment
opportunities in their career fields, matching their training,
capabilities, and experience. The Placement Director is also
available to assist in future years when an InterCoast Colleges
alumnus contemplates a change in jobs. Only graduates of InterCoast
Colleges are eligible for placement assistance, which is provided
without additional charge to the graduate and is a lifetime
service. In order to effectively utilize the placement services,
the graduate must agree to the following policies:
1. A completed resume, in final form, must be submitted
to the Placement Director upon graduation.
2. If an appointment with an employer or with the Placement
Director cannot be kept, a call must be made to the Placement
Director changing or canceling the appointment.
3. Graduates must keep the Placement Director advised on
any change in name (in case of marriage), address, telephone
number, temporary absence from the area, and employment status.
4. In order to enhance the employment potential of each
graduate, the Placement Director should be notified immediately
of the results of each interview and when a job is accepted.
5. Graduates must have the legal right to accept employment
in the United States. International students are not eligible
for employment in the United States and will not receive such
assistance from the school.
6. Graduates who default on their student loan received as
a student at I.C.C., or who owe a past due tuition balance,
or refuses to follow the placement policies may lose their
eligibility for placement services. |
